Prezi-Do you have a presentation due? Are you not comfortable using powerpoint? Or is it just too boring for you? Well Prezi is a great way to make your presentation fresh and cool. Want to see how it works? Click here for a sample of what Prezi can do.
Animoto-Just like Prezi, Animoto is a great alternative to Powerpoint presentations. What I like about Animoto is the ability to add music and is also SUPER easy to use the mobile app (Google Play for Android and App Store for iPhone/iPad).
GoAnimate-One of the coolest ways to create an animated video (A CARTOON)! It's easy, there is a ton of content such as characters, settings, and props, and also easy to add voices to characters! Next time you're doing a video or presentation, try making a cartoon!
OneDrive (Microsoft), iCloud (Apple), Google Drive (Google), Dropbox-OneDrive, the iCloud, Google Drive, and Dropbox all make it capable for you to access your photos and documents from any device. The iCloud is obviously optimized for Apple products while Google Drive is available across various operating systems (I believe). All you need for these is to create an Apple ID or Google Account. Dropbox is also easy to use and offers a good amount of space for your files. I have a Windows 8 laptop and a Windows 8 phone so I use OneDrive for pretty much everything and it is fantastic! I can access my documents from my laptop, phone, and any other computers throughout campus. Click here for a comparison of the clouds.
Pinterest-I thought Pinterest was a website all Mommies surfed to kill time, "pin" recipes, and look at any other pretty Mommy stuff. I have learned to use Pinterest though to give me A TON of ideas for the classroom. Students, you can use Pinterest to help you with assignments and projects if you need ideas.
Just for FUN!
Hudl-If you're playing sports at RHP, you can view your games on Hudl from your computer or mobile device. It is super easy to use and the coolest feature, according to my guys that use it, is you can make your own highlight video of all of your best plays. For more serious athletes, this also means easily uploading your video to youtube or maxpreps for scouts to take interest in you. Talk to your coach to find out how to sign up!
printstagr.am-Most of you are already using it? Print your Instagram photos here!
GoPro-Best all-around camera there is! Shoots awesome videos and photos with cool features like shooting at 120 fps at high-definition and time-lapse photography. I use my camera in class (just to make things more exciting than they really are) and also for fun on my own time. Check out this video I made with my math class.
